Despite a cold winter followed by a hot spring with limited precipitation, with many of our spring crops under unusual stress, we remain confident in another successful spring season. Our U.S. and global teams are working with our growing and dehydration partners in developing crop specific plans, to ensure the best yields and qualities possible considering actual conditions in our fields.

After the recent completion of three additional production lines at our U.S. processing facility in Illinois, we are now operating with 19 production lines of various cleaning, sorting, cutting, milling, blending, and micro treatment capabilities.

What do people look for in the foods they consume? The answer to that question has changed quite a bit over the last 5 to 10 years. Before, factors like convenience and taste were the primary (if not only) concerns for many consumers, especially in the snack food market.
For the last five years, Silva International has been running a raw material supplier workshop in China. Each year we see higher attendance and a significant increase in participation from our partners in this region. This year the workshop spanned two days, with 42 raw material partners and farmers attending, bringing a total of almost 100 people to “our hometown” of Qingdao, Shandong province.
